4-H Consultation judging will take place at the Ness City Grade School Art Room. 4-H members will receive a judging schedule from the Extension Office.
The Kansas 4-H Horse Show and events handbook will be used as the guidelines for the Horse Show. All Ness County 4-H Horseman will be required to stall their horses at the fair until Saturday. Class List: Halter, Showmanship, Walk Trot, Western Plesure, Western Horsemanship, Trail, Reining, Barrels, Poles, Flags, Costume Class. All Horses exhibiting at the Ness County Fair must have a Rhino- flu shot at least 2 weeks prior to the Fair. All exhibitors are encouraged to water horses in their own personal buckets. Run by the Ness County 4-H Families, come out and enjoy some delicious food with the 4-H kids. Menu items include: hamburgers, hotdogs, taco cups, Frito pies, french fries, ice cream and several drink choices. Homemade pie served daily, different flavors each day so come out and enjoy.
No perishable foods allowed. Foods will be judged by consultation judging, a schedule will be mailed to all 4-H members from the Extension Office. Each member can have up to two entries per class, with no more thatn 8 total entries. Must prepare extras for food sale. See Fair book for more rules.

Exhibitors will be limited to one entry per class with no more than 8 entries per section. All exhibits that need to be hung need to have hanger attached. See Fair book for more rules.
Rabbits and Poultry will be located in the north side of the South shed. Handpets will need to be on display. Cats come in for judging and then are taken home. Wildlife will be displayed in the booth building. See Fair book for more rules.
All livestock must be on the grounds by 5:00pm, Wednesday, July 27th.
Boy Scout Troop 131 will serve concession stands each evening starting at 6:30pm until late, they will have cotton candy, snow cones, funnel cakes, and hamburgers & hotdogs.
The Public is welcome to come out and enjoy the 4-H Clothing Style Review and participate in the Food Auction. This is a great way to get some of the best cookies and cakes in the county and help out a 4-H member. See Fair book for more rules.
All livestock must be on the fair grounds by 5:00pm Wednesday. Livestock will be weighed in between 8:00 and 10:00pm. Minimum weights for floor bids are:

Goat show follows 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Swine show.
The petting zoo is free to the public. Enjoy alpacas, dwarf sheep & goats, a miniature donkey and rabbits.
The first 300 people will be served by Boy Scout Troop 131.
The event will take place concurrently with the Golden Belt Telephone Free Hot Dog Feed.
The rocket launch location will be determined that day due to wind. Watch the 4-H youth launch and hopefully recover their 4-H rockets. See Fair book for more rules.
Event includes kids games, a free watermelon feed, and Turtle Races.
The event will be Thursday July 28th starting at 7:00pm in front of the grandstand. Age divisions will be broke by the age of youth at the time of pull, with the top 2 youth in each age group advancing to the Kansas State Fair. Parents must sign off on a form before youth can participate.
The event will take place on the stage in front of the grandstand. Come out and try your skills at a "Jeopardy" type game -- all contestants will local individuals. For more information contact Bryan Foos.

Be part of the 2011 Ness County Fair Parade! This year's theme is "Race in to the Fair". Categories include Antiques, Bikes & trikes, Youth Floats, business/organization floats, Horses etc.
Line up begins East of the intersection of 5th Street and Cedar.

The Kansas 4-H Dog Show rule book will be followed. All dogs must be up-to-date on their shots or boosters for rabies, parvovirus, distemper, leptospirosis bordetella and helatitis. All dogs must be kept on a leash while on the grounds, unless in their cages. Dogs must not be taken near livestock areas, food judging areas or food stands.

The Round Robin event is a Livestock Showmanship Contest. Each grand champion showmanship winner from the junior and senior division of Horse, Beef, Sheep, Swine, and Meat Goat will compete for ALL AROUND Showman. Each 4-H member will in turn show each of the 5 species, receiving a score from 1-10. At the conclusion of the event scores will be totaled to announce the winner. See Fair book for more rules.
The 4-H members and the Fair Board would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has donated prizes or money to the Ness County Fair, with a lunch provided for those supporters. Will be served in the large room of the 4-H building. Grand Champion Awards will be given to the 4-Her that wins in each project area. Also, winners in Open Class Departments will receive Ness County Chamber Bucks.
Each 4-H member may sell two animals in the livestock sale. Minimum weights must be obtained to be able to sell. Buyers may purchase the premium (add on money) and the child may then sell the animal for floor price, or the buyer may purchase the premium and the floor price and keep the animal for butcher. Money may also be donated to the 4-H Pool to be combined with several donors, to purchase the premium of livestock. See Fair book for more rules.
